AQUATERRO was formed in 1995 and developed from an industrial marine
background, stretching back some 30 years.
Founding directors Graeme and Peter Bulte, developed the business from
a long history of service provision to the Southern Ocean Fleet of
commercial mariners and government agencies. Safety equipment specifically
suited to use in the hostile Southern Ocean and Antarctica were sought
out from around the world.

From these demanding user groups, the range and reputation of AQUATERRO
grew, and more equipment and integrated platforms were demanded by
clients such as the Royal Australian Navy.
Today, AQUATERRO is the premier supplier of Extreme Cold Weather gear
for marine applications, and the largest supplier of elite body armour
from the USA and Europe in Australia.
AQUATERRO has been recognised for its service provision, professionalism
and capability by the awarding of "Defence Recognised Supplier
Status" in 2002.
Managing Director Graeme Bulte represents the AMIF (Australian Marine
Industries Federation) on the Standards Australian Technical Committee,
which writes the lifejacket (PFD) standards for Australia.
He is also on the Technical Advisory Panel for Safety Equipment
to the NMSC (National Maritime Safety Committee) and a member of the
SAFE Association (International Aerospace Life Support Industry Association). |
